Who are the Sports Massage Association?

The Sports Massage Association is the UK professional body representing sports massage practitioners and the profession. Driven by the increasing demand for sports massage among sports men and women, it was established in 2002. Since then it has grown to represent over 1000 members and is now recognised as the lead body for sports massage by the major employers in the UK including the British Olympic Association, UK Sport, Home Country Institutes of Sport and many sporting National Governing Bodies.

Who are the Society of Sports Therapists?

Established in 1990, The Society of Sports Therapists was formed to meet the growing needs from sport and leisure on everyone involved in the management and care of injured participants. The incorporation of a "Sport for All" mentality and the escalating number of participants at all levels led to an essential need for a provision and availability of support services which was standardised and monitored.
